Homemade Country Mustard

Simple Country Mustard

Ingredients:

3/4 cup crushed brown mustard seed
3/4 cup water
3 tbsp. vinegar (apple cider, white wine or sherry)
2 tsp. sea salt
1 tsp. ground turmeric

Directions:

Place crushed mustard seed in a bowl, add salt.  Pour in water, stir well.  Let sit at room temperature for up to 15 min.  The longer it sits the more mellow it will be.  Pour in vinegar and stir to combine.  Pour into a glass jar, cover and place in fridge.  Wait at least 12 hours before using.  Mustard will thicken up in the fridge.  Will keep up to a year.
